Ornament Fundraisers Start Now!

It's the most wonderful time of the year...  Truly.

The holidays may seem farther away than they really are at the moment, so this friendly public service announcement is to remind you that if you're planning on creating an ornament fundraiser, it's time to start your order now!  The whole ordering process takes longer than expected to produce and ship ornaments during the busiest season of the year, so we want to make sure you get your orders in on time for delivery before the holidays are past.

How long do ornament orders take to be delivered?  Well, that depends on manufacturing material you choose, how long it takes for art production and your approval, and shipping time to wherever we're shipping to.  The range is from 4 to 8 weeks from start to finish for custom ornaments.  If you're ordering a custom glass ball ornament, count on 4 weeks total.  If you're ordering an custom shaped metal ornament, count on 8 weeks.  There's a whole die cutting process involved, production and shipping from overseas, etc that takes a bit longer for etched metal ornaments

Another advantage of ordering early is that you have more time you have to sell your custom ornaments until the last holiday of the season is past.  Having 1 month to sell your ornaments is a lot more probable than having 1 week to accomplish the same, right?  So in that case, it's time to get your order started.

A few ornament materials to select from for your custom design are right here:

Acrylic Ornaments (custom shaped, full color)
Ceramic Ornaments (stock shapes, full color)

Color Filled Brass Ornaments (custom shaped)
Epoxy Dome Brass Ornaments (stock shapes, full color)
Etched Metal Ornaments (custom shaped in brass nickel, or copper)
Glass Ball Ornaments (stock shape glass in 31 colors, full color option)
Goldtone / Silvertone Ornaments (stock shapes, screen printed 1 color)
Nanobrite Stained Glass Ornaments (stock shapes, full color)
Pewter Ornaments (custom shaped, optional color fill)
Porcelain Ornaments (stock shapes, full color)
Shatterproof Ornaments (stock shapes, screen printed 1+ colors)

To start your custom ornament fundraiser, select a material from the list above, and click on the picture.  You'll land directly on the selection page for that specific ornament type, where you can start your order.  Not sure about imprint options for the image you would like printed?  Request a quote directly from one of the product links above by clicking on one of the selections you see in the store page.  (The Request Quote button is located right next to the Order button for each item once you're in the store.)

Remember, the earlier you order your custom ornaments, the more time you have to sell them before the holidays are past us.  Maximize your ornament fundraising opportunities by ordering in October.

Cheers to a successful custom Christmas ornament fundraiser!

Can Collectibles Preserve Our History?

In their basic form, collectibles preserve only images of history, not the subject itself.  They may not be able to keep time standing still or prevent permanent the loss of culture, but they do provide a glimpse of earlier days each time we steal a glance at the beautiful scenes imprinted on them.

It is this unique benefit of a collectible that can preserve history by preserving our awareness of it.  While time marches on, bringing changes we want and some we may not want, a timeless collectible lets us glimpse back with fondness at a place and time we once loved.

Celebrating these historical icons, whether people, places, or events, is easier with something tangible that keeps the memory in front of us.

Whether a custom ceramic trivet, a custom printed stein, an custom Christmas ornament, or a framed picture, we look at the beauty of a collectible not for its function (it helps), but the rich story it holds in our hearts.

Choosing a subject image to feature on a new collectible is the beginning of preserving history.  Many published books contain historical photographs of people, places, and events that left a legacy for a community, a region, or the entire world, and those images can be reproduced in a format that can be featured on any collectible you choose.  Once an image is chosen, a specific type of collectible can be elected to feature that image.  Some collectibles, such as custom glass ornaments, ceramic ornaments, and collectors mugs, allow full color images to be replicated with detail, while etched metal ornaments require some simplification of the design.  An image can also be replicated with detail on custom trivets and photographic imprinted metal ornaments

The options for preserving history in collectibles really are quite broad, and its only our imagination that may need inspired.  With all the product options to help us preserve memories of people, places, and events that made the world we know today, it's easy to keep history close to our hearts.

Creating a custom glass ball Christmas ornament.

This type of ornament has been around forever and it isn’t going anywhere. One of the most popular styles of custom Christmas ornament is the glass ball and it can be customized any way you see fit.

First there is the 2-5/8” size. This is not the imprint area size, but the actual diameter of the ornament. The imprint area is 1-3/4” x 1-3/4”. The other size available is 3-1/4”. The imprint area on this size is 2” x 2” and allows for more detail on the image to show.

When considering doing these as a series for a fundraiser, it is best to sit down and brainstorm with a couple other people.  This will give you a feel for what others may want to see on an ornament and it takes the pressure off of you as the sole person in charge of the design. A few good examples for a series of ornaments are:
Churches: Doing the stained glass windows in the church. 1 or 2 ornaments a year depending on the number of windows available.
Chambers of commerce: Community events and original businesses from the early town days.
Historical Societies, Museums: Famous people from the community or state.

When it comes down to the design, there are two ways this can be done. First is an artist rendering from a picture. It doesn’t matter how old the picture is. We can work with just about any image. Take a look below!
Once the image is rendered, we will color it according to the amount of imprint colors that were paid for.  It is recommended that at least 2 colors are used for the front imprint as it will allow for a much richer looking image. If a full color image is desired, we can replicate the picture directly on the ornament using a 4 color process. Here is an example:
